Northern Lights Estate Winery

Delicious food, delicious wine, beautiful view, beautiful little stain! Usually had good bubbly service. Ask for a charcuterie board and drinks with friends or for a date. The only drawback is how small the restaurant part is, but it is really not that big of a deal, only they can only a small amount of guests is everything. But it's a nice restaurant winery, one of my favorites! I highly recommend it!

We spent over $500 on our bill, and our server informed us that we could not pay with a card because we had a larger group. This was quite frustrating, especially since one member of our group is only 11 years old and should have been considered in that context. Additionally, the mandatory gratuity felt unfair, considering we didn't receive the service we expected. One would assume that a winery would provide an informative experience regarding their various wines, but nobody on the staff was able to offer any insights or tasting notes. We found ourselves hunting down servers just to get more drinks or to clear away our dirty plates and cups. At one point, a family member even had to clear the table themselves. I can't recommend this winery for those seeking a pleasant experience. Also, it seems they are not retaining some of us in their monthly wine subscription service, which adds to our dissatisfaction.

We sampled nearly all of the wines they produce, and the ones that stood out to me were the Seduction, Ursa, and Blueberry Port. The Seduction, which is their best-selling wine, lived up to its reputation; as you inhale from the wine glass, the aroma of strawberries is quite pronounced. All the wines we tasted were distinctive compared to traditional wines, showcasing vibrant fruit notes with lower tannins. Our sommelier was both friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through each wine and offering food pairing suggestions. In the end, we decided to purchase two boxes of various wines, as these offerings are quite unique. I believe the Seduction wine can also be found at BC Liquor stores. I will definitely return for another visit when we’re back in Prince George.

We were excited for our visit to Northern Lights, and it did not disappoint! We had lunch there on June 28th, and everything was fantastic—the food, the view, the staff (especially Jesse), and especially the wine! We watched a thunderstorm roll over the city while enjoying some incredible desserts together. It truly was the best dining experience I had on this trip with my children. Thank you!

Drinks were good and staff friendly with a nice location. What let the place down was the food. Visited for lunch and nothing was that great. I ordered the montreal smoked meat sandwich and the meat didn't taste smoked and felt store bought. It must have had half a jar of wholegrain mustard that totally ruined the sandwich. Also store bought coleslaw is the only side that they offer. Feels like it is the easiest and cheapest for them. I understand there are not many places like this in PG but paying $20 for a sandwich I would expect better.
