Wow! Did they ever do a great job! The cake was decorated with non toxic plastic decorations of dolphins, whale, fish, octopus and all sorts of sea life, edible beads that looked a bit like bubbles and the blue icing looked like waves. It was just beautiful, the birthday boy and crowd were really impressed and thought it the best birthday cake they had seen. A major bonus of course the cake was delicious as usual. A great big thanks, the cake was a super hit and the hi light of the meal!
We came to this area to tour by bike, and visit several wineries. Before arriving we tried to preorder a loaf of bread. We asked for a loaf of bread with nuts in it. They told us they had bread with nuts and dates in it. When we got they gave us a tiny loaf of bread about the size of a muffin. Ooops. So we also bought a loaf of whole wheat bread. The whole wheat was stale, and the nut/date bread was ok, but super tiny. I will never go there again, and will instead buy from the bakery on the other side of town.
As soon as you step inside, the enticing aroma of cinnamon, maple, and fresh baked goods fills the air, leaving you craving a delicious treat. This quaint bakery specializes in a variety of options including cookies, pastries, cakes, pies, and Keurig coffee or tea. There are no indoor seating options, but a few benches outside are available for those who simply can't wait to try the decadent offerings.
We stopped here this weekend during a visit. We tried a few different items. The turtles cookies were really good (especially if you heat them up just a touch)Raspberry tart was good. Butter tart was just ok. Went back to pick up something up to take home and selected a peach crisp. We thought it was good, not great. I would come back and try some other items and perhaps ask what was made that day. It seems that not everything is necessarily fresh. Also they only take cash so be sure to have done with you. I felt the prices were very reasonable.
The apple blossoms are great. The chocolate turtle cookies and the ginger cookies are pretty good. Other items we have had previously have been , well, so so. Its worth trying a few things though to see what appeals to you and then at least you know that you can find a reliable source for those treats that do appeal. always happy though to patronize a local business. I am sure that some things that we didn't like appeal to someone else's palate.
