Yachthotel Chiemsee am Chiemsee - Prien

Brunch on the flower-filled terrace overlooking the lake was perfect. I'll always remember scooping sweet honey right out of the comb and slathering it on hot, fresh rolls.

The location of the hotel is nice on the lake a bit away from the relatively bussy town , i went for a coffe and a traditional kasse torte in the garden of the hotel in front of the yacht marina for a very peacfull and calm afternoon , general the atmosphere was pleasent reasonably charged at 7euros . staff were friendly and helpfull.

We had only one dinner here as we were staying in the hotel and every other evening we had dinner in town. The hotel prepare a different buffet every evening. We had the bbq one. The meat was awful and the portions small. The salad buffet was covered by sauces and the cake display not very goid in quality. We spent 100 euros where outside in Prien in any restaurant you can feed 6 people for that amount of money. I am quite astonished of the all good reviews. I hope they are not made up reviews. It was an horrible experience apart from the two male waiters, one young and one middle age, who were very kind.

I don't know how often they do it, but it was really delicious, with several kinds of meat, loads of sauces, and some vegetarian things too (I'm not a vegetarian, so I didn't really try any of them). Salads and desserts as well. The wines by the glass were decent. It was just under € 30 per person, not including the drinks.

The service was excellent and the dinner and breakfast were very good. It was nice to stay in the hotel and not venture forth to another restaurant.
