Fives Cocktail And Grill - Preston

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Despite seeing appealing images online and on social media, the reality fell far short of my expectations. We were seated before other customers but were served after them, leaving us waiting. We visited on a Sunday hoping for the special Sunday lunch menu, but were not given menus for it. When we asked for a drinks menu, none was available, making it difficult to choose a drink. The food we ordered was not cooked as requested, the vegetables were cold, and the mashed potatoes were dry and unappetizing. After sending the food back, it improved slightly, but still did not match the quality depicted in online pictures. The overall dining experience was disappointing and I would not recommend this restaurant to others, despite the efforts of our waitress who was managing multiple complaints that evening. It was a letdown considering my high expectations.

The steak and chips at this restaurant are excellent, and you get good value for your money. The live music from Nuno Ess is fantastic.

Me and my husband came to fives with quite high expectations but left quite disappointed. Service was ok, food was ok starter was nice (pate) and main was nice (steak and truffle chips) but steak wasn’t the warmest which later on at the end of meal after me telling them he rectified with a complimentary drink for us both. Now I’m one for music and a good time but I feel the DJ may of been a little premature with choice of music at 8.30 while people are still dining keep it lively but maybe was a bit too lively maybe consider notching it up around 9.30/10. Now the next thing isn’t Five’s fault but maybe could consider a time children are allowed in till as there was also a child with a party that was also dining who was running rings round us other diners , then crawling passed us at our feet while we are eating literally under our table with fewer and fewer clothes on each time till he was just in his nappy and bear feet running and screaming round the restaurant which was a little distracting while trying to have a romantic meal together I’d noticed on trip advisor that someone had complained of a screaming child before so maybe it’s something to consider on the time. Other than that the experience was ok not what I expected but ok.
