Pizzeria Chiaia - PRAIA A MARE

Had a beautiful tasty seafood lunch opposite the beach Giuseppe our waiter fussed over us and recommended the seafood linguine which was amazing!! He also gave ua a free aperitivo he personally made himself which was divine! Simple and great restaurant not fancy just genuine italian hospitality. Higly recommended

Had lunch here with my wife as it was about the only restaurant open on the beachfront during the end of the season, but it was pretty full. Had the Linguine with Scampi shrimps) and it was a nice dish with I think around 10 prawns in it all with a reasonable amount of meat and was decently priced at €9, my wife had Risotto with Salmon, again very tasty, with a sufficient rather than overly generous amount. Didn’t try drinks as was driving but the drinks menu appears large and resonantly priced , our litre of sparkling water was €2, staff were helpful and had a small amount of English language Overall would visit again

We have been eating here every holiday for several years and had not looked at the reviews until recently. I was quite surprised at some of the reviews as we have always eaten well here. The sword fish was one of the best eaten in Praia and to be honest we have never experienced bad food here. Yes at times especially in the busiest months the service is slower but that has never been a problem for us and was never excessive and much prefer that to being rushed through your meal. Reasonably priced, open all year, we hope to continue visiting for many years to come.

My Family and I came to this restaurant for lunch today, the food was AMAZING! The Fish was very fresh! The Pasta was spectacular! And the service was great! Highly recommended this restaurant! Ps. Giuseppe the head waiter is the best!!

Having written a good review and being surprised at bad reviews then, it saddens me to say that now I understand. We generally eat here once every time we are in Praia. We came in May, a good meal, again at the beginning of July, a good meal and then at the end of our holiday and it was awful. Not the food, the service and attitude. We ordered our meals, my husband and son received theirs, we had ordered some fries to share, they arrived and I had ordered a salad that arrived but no sign of my main. A small commotion at the next table revealed that my meal had been taken there and the customer had started eating it. It was fish, no problem I thought , easy and quick to cook it will soon arrive, but no. We sat and sat, all food eaten , all liquid drunk, no sign of my meal! A waiter came to clear the table no offer of anything, dessert , coffee et . My husband got up to pay the bill and was incredulous to see the fish still included on the bill. When he pointed out that we were still waiting, the chef had not cooked anything else. What is unforgivable is that at no time did anyone come to the table to explain , apologise or offer anything else. This is extremely poor service which in Italy is not forgivable. I am so disappointed. Shan’t be rushing back!
