It was unpleasant to sit at a table covered in the previous person's dropped food. The overall experience was not enjoyable and I would not return.
Watch out for the big portion sizes of the food at this restaurant. They are huge, but the quality is excellent. The service is faultless and the atmosphere is nice and quiet, perfect for bringing your dog along.
We accidentally stopped in for a Sunday roast on our way back from the waterfall and were pleasantly surprised. We were starving and noticed a sign for Sunday roast, so we decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did because it turned out to be the best roast beef dinner we've had in a long time. In one word: FANTASTIC!!!
Nice staff, some interesting things on the menu, but its probably better if you don't deviate from the tried and tested pub favourites. Unfortunately I opted for the Swordfish with garlic prawns, I absolutely love swordfish and ate a lot of it when I lived in Cyprus, this particular piece was rock hard and I borrowed one of our parties steak knives to cut it. It was accompanied by the largest portion of tiny garlic shrimp you have ever seen, I was very disappointed it was not what i was expecting. Another in our party had the fish and chips which he declared totally tasteless. The steak and the burger the others in our party had were fine apparently. I don't want to pan a nice little village pub/hotel but would suggest you stay away from the more adventurous options on the menu,
Excellent food, huge portions very reasonably priced. The down side very poor service, totally ignored, no guidance on table availability or how to order. We weren't asked if our food was ok or if we wanted a sweet. If you want to pay by card then you have to go to the pub across the road. Tables were left dirty. Such a shame that the bar staff let the Chef down.
