Cygnet At The Swan - Powys

We had dinner at The Swan, and it was truly delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend it!

I just left the Swan Hotel, where we arrived a bit late for lunch in town. We heard that The Swan might serve food, and we were offered a sandwich, which I appreciated given our situation. The weather was beautiful, and the garden was lovely, but unfortunately, the staff were grumpy and unhelpful. The sandwich was very dry, and we ended up not eating it. I requested that it be removed from the bill, which they did, but with a rather sullen attitude. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

The service has been inconsistent, with it often seeming impossible to receive all ordered items at the same time. While the young waitress we encountered this time was pleasant and attentive to our concerns, she was often interrupted by a man, likely the manager, who engaged minimally with us. There are many better cafes and restaurants in town, and we would recommend looking elsewhere, not only for improved service but for better food quality and value. Prices here have recently increased, but the portion sizes and quality have noticeably decreased. Based on our lunch experiences, we certainly wouldn't risk returning for dinner; we believe that our money would be better spent at other establishments.

We were told by a local it was a good place to eat. We booked for 5 in the bar and they put us in the restaurant with lovely garden views. The food was delicious and fairly priced. Loved the Lamb and Feta with roasties.

Stayed here 3 nights. Food very good and great choice and excellent service. Staff were very patient with our rather noisy group.
