Rigger’s Pub Style - Powell River

We had some of the best fish and chips we have ever had, along with delicious burgers and fries. The fish was caught by the owner and served fresh to us. The staff were amazing and friendly, and we would love to visit again. As we were enjoying our meal, we saw a couple of rabbits hopping around behind the pub, which was a beautiful sight.

According to their website, RIGGERS is a pub-style restaurant open from mid-June to mid-September. This licensed hotel is a must-stop for anyone visiting Savary. The hotel is located just up the hill from the harbour. The menu is casual and changes daily to accommodate different events. RIGGERS is also fully licensed and offers live entertainment like karaoke every Saturday night, as well as occasional open mic nights and comedy nights throughout the season.

Due to Covid restrictions, the restaurant is currently only open for karaoke on Saturday nights.

Savary island is one of the most beautiful places in bc! this small restaurant/pub is one of the only places to eat / drink on the island. it serves townsite beer from powell river and a good selection of other bottled drinks, wein and high balls. the selection of the food is typical pub, but a small menu. this is a great place to visit when they are on the island. they open early on Tuesday, as it grows market day only on the road.

Food was decent, service was slow, but that’s the island pace! This place doesn’t work quite like other restaurants in that you must go inside, order, pay and then find your table. The food took a long time to arrive, but we weren’t in a rush so that was fine. Small menu, basic pub food, but it wasn’t bad.
