Paula's Public House - Poughkeepsie

My husband and I stopped in for dinner tonight; this was our first time at Paula's and it will certainly not be our last. Great first impression, and we commented to each other that the place seems to draw a more mature/sophisticated clientele. Even as the place got busy and filled up, it wasn't overly noisy and there wasn't a rowdy bar crowd. We were seated promptly by a very lovely and friendly young lady, I believe her name is Carol. Our waiter was at our table in a flash; Steve, who is very friendly and attentive. We shared the Caesar salad which was very good. We both ordered Paula's Pasta; mine with beef, my husbands with chicken. My husbands empty dish spoke for itself. My beef was tender and the sauce was delicious, I'm lucky enough to have some to take home and enjoy again tomorrow. We didn't have room for dessert but couldn't pass up those gorgeous looking cupcakes! So, we brought a couple home. I just enjoyed my cupcake and wish I had ordered two just for me. My husband better hurry up and eat his before I steal it. We even got to see Jim's gorgeous face on our way to our car. The food was great, service great, atmosphere was lovely. You will be seeing more of us! Thanks for a great experience.

Visited Paula's Public House last night. Very classy place, friendly staff and owner. Good food (Fish Chips) and great tap beer fresh and delicious. They had a Jazz group playing nicely different atmosphere. I'll be back!

Paula's Public House was the perfect ending for a day spent exploring the Hudson Valley. The quaint exterior invites you into a space filled with rich colors, comfortable seating choices, a gorgeous bar and lively company. The owners, Paula and James, greet each customer by name and make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable. We started off with spot on mojitos, fried green beans and chicken wings. The wings were a delightful surprise when they arrived without the usual spicy tomato sauce drowning the plate. Instead we had a thick, luscious dipping sauce (you choose from three sauces). I ended with the salmon entree and wished I hadn't filled up on the appetizers because I would have loved to try the dessert menu. By the time we left, the room was in full swing with a band playing to a crowd that seemed like they were at a party that they didn't want to leave; I know I didn't.

Paula's is my new favorite spot! The food is always amazing and the staff is very attentive. Lots of live bands and overall such good energy there. I highly recommend it to everyone!

The staff and service was awesome great place to eat and have a few drinks with family and friends.
