All Shook Up Cafe Juice - Poughkeepsie

The restaurant has a super friendly atmosphere and great juice. We stopped by today to pass the time, as I was craving a green juice. The owner, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, was welcoming, talkative, and very kind. She prepared some delightful juices and vegetarian sandwiches, both of which were delicious. It's a fantastic spot for a quick snack and some local conversation.

I never received my tips; Michelle pocketed them all. When I inquired about it, I was met with some made-up excuse. One day, a regular customer offered me a ride to work and asked if I was getting my tips. After I told her no, she replied, "I love the food at that place, but I don’t tip anymore because I know they’re not giving you the money. The last girl who worked there told me she didn’t get hers either. Tips don’t go to the owner of the business." It was one of my first jobs, and being young at the time, I didn’t know my rights, which they took advantage of. Now that I'm 24, I wouldn’t let that happen to me again. So while you may enjoy the food here, be aware that your tips may not be going to the right place (unless they’ve changed their practices since then, which I doubt). And if you’ve ever considered working here, I strongly advise against it.

The fresh-squeezed juice, protein drinks, and smoothies here are fantastic! The staff is very friendly as well. While I was in line, the woman in front of me asked the cashier about the menu. The cashier handed her a menu, but the woman realized she had forgotten her glasses at home. In a kind gesture, the cashier took the time to read the menu items aloud to her. I was truly impressed by that.

What a delightful surprise! I stumbled upon this hidden gem while in the area, and I'm so glad I did. I tried the Earth Angel and a Chocolate Shake, both were delicious. I can't wait to return and sample their juices. To top it off, the chef entertained us with some opera singing while he prepared our meals. It was a wonderful experience!
