Famous Willies Barbecue - Post Falls

The BBQ at this restaurant is amazing! The brisket was flavorful and the smoked flavor was delicious. The portions were also very generous.

When my friend and I arrived at the restaurant on Friday, I was disappointed to find that the smoked BBQ was not fresh and had been reheated, resulting in a dry texture. The use of lighter fluid as a fire starter was too strong in the sausage, making it unpleasant. The ribs, brisket, and sausage were all dry, indicating that the chef had possibly been working diligently to prepare them.

The service was excellent. The waitress, who appeared to be the only staff member, greeted us warmly and promptly took our order. The food arrived quickly, with our meals being served in less than 10 minutes - even before a table of four received their food. While the meat could have used a bit more smoke, the flavors were still great. The crispy ends had a nice smoky taste, although some parts were a bit dry. Fortunately, the BBQ sauce helped to enhance the overall flavor. I particularly enjoyed the variety of BBQ sauce options available. The mild sauce was on the sweeter side, so I decided to mix it with the Cattleman sauce for a perfect balance. The coleslaw and potato salad were delicious as well. I appreciated the addition of radishes in the coleslaw and the fact that the potato salad had a distinct homemade taste. I look forward to returning to this restaurant whenever I find myself in the area again. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Absolutely brilliant!! I have protected Famous Willies since their opening and the consistency of excellence continues! Another pound of this fabulous brisket this week and the red beans and rice with smoked sausage. I grew up in Louisiana and this is the real deal authentically south, Texas BBQ. Superb.

Such a fun, cozy, little place! Love the food and looking at all the pics and memorabilia hanging on the walls. The staff are awesome! Very friendly and courteous. We've enjoyed everything we've ordered. The baked potato with sausage and brisket is definitely worth trying and I really like their red beans and rice with sausage! Ohh yeah and the carrot cake! It's delicious!
