We visited abarbistro for dinner on a Friday night, the place was busy but not crowded. we had for the starter the fritto misto, main thing of the day and the trout, and 2 dessert. the eating is fantastic, well presented, well studied, good quality products, we really enjoyed everything, and do they have a great gunst and save a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a splash of ipa and an aperol spray washed. the reason why I give 4 stars and not 5 is because the name fritto misto should be changed in tempura. the fritto misto is an Italian dish made of calamari rings, prawns and white baits, all eaten in flour and roasted deep. this is more like tempura, broken and deep fried, including pfeffer, courgette, one prawn and 2 squid bits. Nevertheless we were very satisfied and we will definitely relive it on the way to isle of wight.
Super friendly staff and good eating. the price is above average, but certainly worth it.
Good clam soup. great scallops and terrines. very good risotto and fish n chips. excellent hammock. beautiful rag and bone riesling to wash it. great service. all round beautiful evening.
Update 10/2021: All of the below still applies without question, a very consistent restaurant. Great tasting food from a seasonally changed menu. The surroundings are of superb quality, perfect for a lovely slap up meal, or just drinks if you wish. They have an excellent selection of wines with knowledgeable staff to help you choose. It has a very friendly environment and first class service. The outside seating areas (front and back) are most enjoyable in the summer months.
