The restaurant looked good, the inside looked clean and yes, although you may spot a few cats around, we did not see them in the restaurant itself...just around the outdoor area. The restaurant was not busy...in fact there were only 3 tables there including ours ... so this makes our experience even more disappointing because there was no excuse for the poor service. We put our orders in and all seemed to be running smoothly...until the food arrived... ORDERED: Pizza Portovecchiese I apologize if the name is incorrect but I am not going back to check Jambon cru, which is prosciutto...I assumed all over the world was the same but apparently not....maybe we should also return to Latin for our food like we do when we try to identify a fish in a foreign country... RECEIVED: Pizza Reine bacon, mozzarella and olives I pointed the error out to the waitress, and although she quickly went to the pizzaiolo, she came back with this: She: He said this is the right one... Me: But the olives were not in the menu... She: Sometimes he just throws olives in it...force of habit...you know... Me: But this is bacon on the pizza, the one I ordered had prosciutto Now the guy making the pizza jumps in... this is jambon corse... corsican prosciutto However I was not going to let this one slide...I picked up a bit of bacon from my pizza walked to the oven and very politely said: Since you also have Rock melon and Jambon cru on your menu...I assume you mean you are serving rock melon with raw bacon...as well? ... Now a guy from the kitchen comes out and says Le monsieur il a raison...ca c 'est pas de jambon cru.... the gentleman is right, this is not prosciutto but from the blank face of the pizzaiolo I understood that there was no point in taking this further and despite their mistake they had no plans to correct it ... ORDERED: Kid 's menu fish with rice but we asked could we please swap the rice with fries...and the waitress told us sure no problem and noted this on our order... RECEIVED: The fries never made it out of the kitchen...so we gently reminded them of our actual order. There was no apology but they promised to bring them out in 2 minutes..the second time I told them not to worry...and this time in a slightly annoyed way the waitress said They ARE coming...no problem... ... needless to say this was the last we heard about it and they never arrived ...there was a scoop of ice cream that went with the kid menu, but I did not have the heart to ask ... ORDERED: Veal with fois gras RECEIVED: Veal with fois gras: In total fairness the veal and the fois gras was cooked well but it was ice cold when it arrived and cold liver is never a great experience ... plus the wine reduction was appallingly bitter ....let 's leave it at that... ORDERED: Prawn risotto RECEIVED: Prawn risotto: Overcooked/mushy with no resemblance to a real risotto We asked for the bill, it also wasn 't coming so we got up and paid...no questions asked, what was on the original order went through the cash register...we all came from a long ferry journey I did not have the energy to dispute it...now I am well rested and therefore... Maybe they just had a bad night?? But I had the feeling that because we were tourists we did not need to be looked after as well as a local...Rest of the Holiday went great...
We wished to try an alternative to the port in Porto Vecchio. Le Cosy was one of the places recommended in the literature we were given at our accommodation. We were shown to a very cosy table for three and the waitress was very friendly and spoke very good English. The menu was varied and although we didnt choose pizzas it looked to me that they were signature dishes for them with the smoke fired pizza oven lit in the corner. We chose and the meals arrived without too much time and they were tasty. Overall it ticked the boxes as the prices were so much less than the Port area. The staff were friendly and the service efficient.
On our way to the restaurant our daughter fell a sleep. Change of plans: take away. 2 pizza's and a salad: 25 euro. Made fresh and fast. The waiter even brought it to me in the little supermarket where I was while waiting. Surrounding is not so exciting. However the veranda makes it indeed cozy.
This one ignored the siesta hours and it was close to where we staying, so no complaints there. No pizza for lunch, which is what I wanted on this vacation. Instead, I ate something called Broquette or something like that a great beaf skewer. I liked it so much I ordered it the second time we went there. Not too expensive either.
We ate dinner in Le Cosy twice (end of September 2018). We were happy with the fresh food (the „aïoli cabillaud” and the chocolate dessert were both delicious) and the nice service. I really liked the interior it’s excatly like the name suggests very cosy. Spacious place with big windows, plants and combination of wood and stone around. You can also see the fire in the stove. I believe in the high season you need to book a table.
