Lo Storione - PORTO SAN GIORGIO

Well after a few years absence we returned to this delightful restaurant. The food has definitely moved up to 5 star. Service by the lovely Viola complimented two amazing meals on consecutive days. Absolutely loved it!!

Fish in August along the Adriatic can be an adventure when only local fishing is allowed for a few summer months but four largish scampi for 35€ in this very reasonably seems cover the top! Careful with the menu which stated for 2, i.e. two scampi per person!

What else would you expect in this sea side town but to specialize in fish as the restaurant card suggests. We were traveling by car from Bari to our next work assignment when, as three weary travelers, we quickly checked into our hotel and wandered into this place to eat. We had missed the dinner crowd just us and the owners. Oh, and truth in advertising this was 2 years ago in April. But I am just getting around to reviewing that trip. Our translator ordered a huge flat fish and ate every bit of it with gusto while my American companion and I ordered more ordinary fish less strange looking to our unaccustomed eyes all of it was very delicious. Would happily eat here again if I am ever in the area.

I've been there with my family. Place is stunning, on the beach and service is excellent. Price is good and dishes are huge next time I could save a few money sharing with my wife the fried fish instead if having two portions).

Fish dishes are still excellent and they have updated the wi-fi connection so that non Italians can use it. The restaurant seems to be experiencing a down turn due to the Italian economic position and so less staff were on than usual and so the waitresses or sometimes waitress were rushed of their feet. Despite this we were still looked after well as they remembered us from earlier visits, however we did have to wait longer than usual for desserts and coffees at the end of the meal (but this was a small price to pay)
