Pearl in Porto. Een restaurant in een klein steegje. Een paar tafels en een goede Portugese kaart. Zeer mooie krediet en goede prijs.

The food was excellent and the staff there is very friendly

Weather in Porto the last week of October 2023 was cold and very wet. Trying to stay dry, using Google, we found this restaurant very close by our hotel, up a small alley well off the beaten path. It's very small 4 or 5 tables, seating 15 max. It turned out to be one of the best places we ate at during our 2 weeks in Portugal. Only 1 person worked the dining room itself, taking and serving orders and drinks. It looked like there were only 2 in the kitchen. Service was good and friendly, and the suggestions we got very helpful. Don't miss the cheese toast. it adds a whole new meaning to the version we make in the USA. My wife had the cornbread topped cod. It was very flavorful; one of the best and most innovative cod dishes we tried the entire trip. I had the curry if only to try something we had not seen on any other menu. It too was very good. Dessert was the lemon salted pie also exceptional. Wine and port selection was decent, and we left well fed.

Great food, beatiful place and very friendly people. We enjoyed it a lot!!!!

Fiz uma reserva às 20:45 chegamos pedir sangria atendente disse ter acabado, perguntei sobre o tarta que estava no menu pelo Google não tem mais o menu atualizou mas não tem os novos pratos no site, ok os pratos principais ótimo, entrada não gostei muito mas foi o meu paladar para quem gosta de cogumelo com álcool ok, mas no fim era em torno de 22hrs saiu uma senhora da cozinha foi abaixando as cortinas ficou na porta da cozinha olhando pra ver se nós não iríamos nos tocar e sair, mas ela estava olhando fixamente ! não sei se voltaria ou indicaria a alguém ! o local e a música são maravilhosos o cardápio é diferente que tem na net portanto não vá imaginando oque comer pq chegando lá não terá ! data da reserva 25/02 20:45
