Porta'o Lado - Porto

Ótima francesinha. Boa cerveja. Bom atendimento. Muito movimentado.

It took awhile to place my order, and the couple next to me mentioned that they had a similar experience as well. Once ordered, though, the food came out relatively quick. This place was recommended by my tour guide as having his favorite francésinha in town. This was my first time having this sandwich and I think that for me, personally, it is not my favorite. I did not dislike it, though, and I am glad that I was able to try it, still, to experience this local dish for myself. It is quite filling and left me satisfied for several hours.

Perfect place to try Francesinha! The staff was super friendly and we had great service. Everything was just delicious. Price wise, Francesinha was 10.65 euro. We also tried the regular hot dogs, which were 4.75 euro. Beers (33cl half a pint) start from 2.45 euro.

We stopped by Lado B as our last meal in Porto and it was lovely! I found this place because I wanted to try a francesinha and Lado B kept popping up on lists of the best ones and it didn't disappoint. We also ordered a plate of fries and the cachorrinho. Everything was great and the prices were reasonable. We went during a lull time since we had an early train and it was nice and quiet. The restaurant itself was very clean and modern

Our first taste of Porto. Went for dinner on a recommendation from a friend. The place was bustling and had a great atmosphere. It is decorated in a retro music themed style. The staff were friendly and gave great service. Food was delivered to the table promptly, impressive as the place was so busy. There was plenty to choose from on the menu, but nearly everyone was eating Francesinha. Many people seem to say this is the best Francesinha in Porto, and it is good, but others I tasted elsewhere were better, I felt. The other meals we had, including chicken, were also good but lacking a bit of flavour. The chocolate cake was more of a mouse than a solid cake, but it was OK. Overall, it was a good place to visit, reasonably priced with a great atmosphere, but for me, the food was just not quite as good as some of the other cafes I tried.
