Nix Invicta - Porto

Restaurant which is grabbing the customers from street... One thing is the menu, another when you get your plate. And when you ask the chef why 's that, he is blaming on bad translation. Pity... Nothing more than a looking for money restaurant.

We dined at Nix Invicta recently and were overall happy with our meal. We went for the mixed seafood platter for 2 that was very good value at just shy of 40€ for 2. The platter was well presented and came out with dry ice billowing over it which while not our personal styles definitely is a sight to behold and will appeal to many. The platter was generous on all the portions of the various items which was excellent. The clams were very flavourful, the very thin chips certainly complemented the food and the crab was also good. The mussels I noted were New Zealand green lipped mussels I'm pretty sure therefore imported a long distance and weren't too flavourful either. Green lipped mussels are large and I believe they were used for style over substance. A decent proportion of the platter is prawns and while nice they lacked that certain prawn sweetness, they didn't have any off flavours but I can only describe them as average. The service was good and friendly and the setting and music well chosen also. Its a tough choice between 3 and 4 stars. Overall I've gone for a 3 as I think it's a truer reflection of the food quality. However not far off a 4 at all with a few tweaks of the food.

Restaurante incrível! Comida excelente, vinho muito bom, atendimento de excelência desde o conhecimento à atenção demonstrada pelo cliente! Perfeito para um jantar a dois!
