Lake House Narin - Portnoo

Unfortunately, this restaurant review is outdated as the hotel mentioned closed in June 2021. We were not informed of the closure until we tried to contact Mary via email on the day of our arrival, as our phone was not working. It is concerning that we could have arrived to closed doors without any prior notice. We later discovered that the hotel was suddenly sold to an American and even weddings were canceled with short notice. This situation is not acceptable.

This restaurant is a great place to visit. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the ambience is fantastic with open fires throughout the building. The rooms were impeccably clean and the beds were so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning. The food was also excellent. Mary, the manager, was very friendly and provided helpful recommendations during our stay. The hotel is conveniently located near beautiful Blue Flag beaches, an 18 hole coastal golf course, world-famous fishing resorts, and stunning scenery. It is also dog-friendly. If you're looking for a hidden gem in Ireland to escape the hustle and bustle, look no further.

The food, like the staff here is very good. And the earth doesn't cost.
