Taqueria Guadalajara - Portland

I came to this Mexican restaurant with my dad for the first time 3 years ago and the food was good in standard wise. However their were instances that when we took my mom for the first time, to our amazement it may not have tasted like other Mexican restaurants we’ve been to Corpus. But we knew friends that came by here every so often for the past two years and mentioned that the food was good. We’ve seen how they remodeled the place from the outside from the past three months and were wondering if their business have gotten better. So this past Sunday we decided to try it since it’s been a long time and we liked the food, so we’ll be coming back. The mom liked the way how they made their flour tortillas, she said it tasted like pancakes

This is by far the Best of the best Mexican restaurant in Portland tx I would recommend every one to try it. It is authentic homemade Mexican food and I guarantee you'll love it . The food here is very good. However, I find the 4% charge for card payments to be excessive, though it's not a major issue. The biggest drawback is the wait time; it takes an astonishingly long time to get your food. I waited 30 minutes just to place my order at the drive-thru, and then another 15 to 20 minutes to actually receive my food. This is particularly challenging when you have children in the car who are eager to eat, making the overall experience less enjoyable.

The complimentary chips are thick and satisfying. The free salsa has a subtle kick to it. The corn tortillas are soft and sturdy, unlike the flimsy store-bought ones. The barbacoa plate is a good value and isn’t overly greasy, as it drains well. The service is decent. I found the house red hot sauce to be spicier than the green one, which I personally prefer. Overall, I enjoyed the red sauce more.

We're not from the area, but we were craving Mexican food. The meal was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. We dined there yesterday and noticed that it always seems to be busy whenever we drive by. I only wish we had time to sample the breakfast menu!
