Restaurante Taberna da Maré

Very beautiful traditional Portuguese restaurant near the harbour, good eating good value, friendly staff, clean.

This place really deserves 5 stars due to their service and quality of food. even thought only 2 of 8 servers could speak English with us, they all understood our desires perfectly. the hard fish steak with fried wobble and thunfischsteak with baked tomaten was the “Catch of the Day” and both a wonderful structure and great taste combinations with the sweet. as vegetarian I have made a rule for me that I only eat twice in year fish; on holiday in a suitable restaurant they believe me; it was worth it!

This place found Google cards and we are very happy that we went. beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating on a quiet side street in the old town. the whole waiting team was beautiful, attentive and knowledgeable. ricardo gave us excellent recommendations that we followed and were glad that we did it! the scaled makrele and Algarve salad was a particularly good recommendation. the brothing pot was also an unexpected star, especially when paired with their incredible house peri peri oil. it took a few bites to acclimate and then it was very susceptible. it is like a British brot sauce, with much more taste. her grilled squid was also perfect. excellent eating, good wine, great waiting team and beautiful environment.

Every year, in summer, I visited this restaurant. the menu is great with various options that focus on local cuisine. but the great star for me is the tuna bell, not a worte! even my 1yr old love. the personal is friendly and efficient. the lunch time is less busy, dinner after 8 you need a booking or simply to stay in the long wait. most in portimão altstadt!

Lovely staff, fresh and delicious food, good value and very drinkable wines. Highly recommended, even on a wet night in October!
