A Casa Da Rocha - Portimão

A restaurant with gorgeous views, and a real sense of Portuguese food, all with a calming, quite peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. The service was good, with a well paced meal, and the variety of seating available was nice to have. The food was good, nothing special, but what seemed to be hearty Portuguese dishes. The cataplana was decent, but didn’t quite live up to my expectations given it was such a traditional dish of the region. The pasta was nice too, though lacked a little flavour. All in all, the price was fair, and is a good option to experience traditional food, but could be seen as dated and a little bit underwhelming as a dining experience.

Lovely food. I had the Mushrooms to start, Lamb Shank for main and the brownie for dessert. Cannot fault the food. We decided to sit outside as it was quite warm and the sunset was a lovely view. However it seemed that the place was short on staff and we seemingly got forgotten about after our mains were served. My friend had to get up and go inside and ask for the dessert menu and we also had to go in and ask for the bill. The staff seemed very busy and the restaurant was very busy. We didn't have a set waiter or waitress but rather had different people every time. It seemed a bit chaotic. When we initially went in the restaurant there was another couple who upped and left that seemed to have been waiting for some time to be served. I would recommend for food but maybe when not as busy or when they have more staff.

Magnificent view from their terrace! the staff was also friendly and the food was good. we had laughs and lambs, and in any case they try the house dessert! that was delicious!

The reviews must be fake or old because the food was terrible. There is no way this deserves 4+ stars. It is the definition of a tourist trap. We got a bread and butter appetizer. The bread was clearly the packaged bread from the super market and the butter was still in the packets. No effort at all here. I got the bass, my wife got one of the stews. The bass was actually decent but the vegetables served with my fish were obviously frozen vegetables from the super market. My wife’s stew had no flavor at all. You expect mediocre food from touristy places in a good location with such a good view, but this was excessively bad. You can find more passable food elsewhere in the area.

Great cliff restaurant, great view and eating we were with garlic garnel, cataplano and travel stuff. we had luck to just turn for a table, most tabs had reserved signs on them, so would recommend to book if later than 6 o'clock. the staff was attentive and very helpful!
