Le Repere - Portbail

Went for a beer after a beach stroll. Very cosy place with excellent service. Bartender smiled politely at my faulty attemps in French and replied in very good English. Felt very much welcomed at this place. Oh, they serve very good beer and have a...wide range of flavoured sirops, if that's your scene.

We tasted the mussels and fish and chips. Both was tasty, the mussels were very big, the chips very well cooked. The fish was served only Mayonnaise and not with Remoulade. The service was kind and quick. However, per dish is for me a...little bit too much, € would have been appropriate.

The food is always good here and we always get a warm welcome, the service is great. Fabrice is a great host.

We met friends for lunch and thought we'd try here for a change. It's nothing flash appearance wise, has friendly waiting staff and the food was nice (ubiquitous moules but with plenty of different sauces, fish chips British style and cod in curry tomato...sauce were chosen by us). All were very nice but we were a tad startled at average of per main course. We did wonder why no plat du jour menu offered but decided it may not offer it. Nice time with friends and nice food but on leaving we saw blackboard outside advertising plat du jour Hadn't noticed it on the way in as running in from rain but we felt disappointed we were not offered it so that has now clouded our judgement and will not be likely to rush back. Shame considering we live here.

En vacances à Port-Bail, nous y avons diné car les autres restaurants de Port-Bail complet. le +, le parking pour stationner, accueil bien, salle du restaurant simple. Commander 4 plats identiques, Fish and Chips servi avec des frites pas bonnes, grasses et lourdes (surgelées?) et le Fish trop gras, trop trop de tout. On est pas resté longtemps. Pour avoir fait d'autres restaurant à Port-Bail, vraiment celui-ci vraiment en dépannage.
