Black Rock And Grill - Portage

I have eaten several times in this place and the last time was last Saturday. So far it's one of my favorite restaurants around Portage! The service is amazing and most foods are pretty good. Sometimes I get a supplement for my meal that is sometimes lobster bisque or the monster chili that are both really good and the steak is also really good. The experience of cooking the steak on the lava plate can be difficult, but it was not too bad and I also usually got the truffle friries that were really good. There were a few times where I would get the famous lava cake dessert that is delicious and really good. I hope I can eat here sometime! Overall, I would really recommend this place to someone who wants to eat somewhere in Portage!

If we could give 10 stars we would. We are visiting from Iowa due to my husbands military obligations. (They support military 10% off) We could never give a good enough review truly. What an awesome place to eat. The host was super busy but made sure to acknowledge us right away and was sooo polite. Our waiter (Michael) was one of the best we have ever had (we travel a lot military). Food was more then perfect. The restaurant was super clean as well. We plan to go back again in a couple days.

Awesome experience and lots of unique items on the menu. Would have rated a 5 but my mom's margarita had no salt on the rim!

This was our second visit to Black Rock. The first did not go well as they were just too busy but this time everything was fantastic. We had the 4 course meal and everything tasted fantastic . The waiter was new but did a good job. A little pricey but for the quality of the food and atmosphere it was well worth the visit. I will definitely be back. Well done this visit.

First time there for my birthday. I was surprised by how good the crab cakes were, on par with the ones I had in Baltimore! The s main show of the steaks you cook to your pleasure on the black stones were great, but not kid friendly (or drunk). So be careful. The magic potion drink with it changing colors, and the free dessert with sparkler were fun. The service was also superb with a happy birthday note. I would highly recommend!
