We walked over to Port-Vendres from Collioure today, and had lunch at La Terrasse, upstairs from Cote Vermeille. It's completely open onto the harbor, and it's elevated location gives it better views than any other restaurant on this extensive waterfront. The cuisine was equally elevated. A dégustation of tuna tartare and sushi grade tuna grilled very rare was extraordinary, as was the plat of grilled fish, mashed potatoes and grilled mushrooms. The sauces that accompanied both dishes were equally dazzling. Rounding out the experience was excellent and unhurried service. If you can only have one meal in Port-Vendres, it should definitely be at Le Terrasse.
This is a great spot to sit out, watch the boats and enjoy the weather. We stopped here for a mid morning coffee. This village is a working port and today a large container belles. Allied the Lady Rose was unloading it’s chilled cargo. At the quay side was an older ship here for two weeks for people to view. After a walked around the port, then back to the car to move on to Collioure.
A delightful restaurant. Good fresh food beautifuly presented and prepared. Attentive and helpful staff. The choice of wines is excellent and fairly priced as is the menu. There is the daily set menu with a choice of 2 dishes per course, around €30 or the à la carte, mains about €25-30. It is above the best restaurant in PV, in an industrial style setting overlooking the harbour. The loos are in a metal shipping container with a plant wall facing the seating area. If it really hot there is misting system.
We both took the evening menu at the bistrot upstairs, there are 2 offered one at 34 and the other at 39 euros. I had Tartar of samon with lemon and ginger sorbet my hubby had canalonni of grilled vegs filled with fresh cheese as starters then he had dos de cabillau and risotto of sepia and i took the grilled entrecôte with the potatoe gratin.a dessert rasberry mille feuille (the weak point) i 'd give them 5,5 out of 6 for this meal. The wine was 18 euros for what is called a Pot 500mls of good local wine. Good service and not too much fuss which is often the case in a classy place.
