We truly enjoyed everything we ordered. The tempura scallops were outstanding; I could have easily eaten more of them. The gyoza ranked among the best we've ever had—tender, fresh, and perfectly steamed. We opted for three rolls: a salmon-tuna roll, a Dungeness crab roll, and an additional tuna roll. The fatty toro was exquisite as well. The restaurant boasted a large drink selection and had a great atmosphere. It was a bit noisy near the sushi bar, so we chose to sit on the other side of the restaurant. If we were to return, we would definitely wish we lived closer.
Additionally, Japan's renowned preference for high-quality beef, such as Wagyu, is well-represented here. The meat is expertly prepared, sure to delight any steak lover, especially when paired with the right whisky. While the seafood offerings are also enjoyable, on a cold, rainy winter evening in the Pacific Northwest, the hearty seafood stews became more appealing than the sushi. Some sushi options were unavailable due to seasonal variations, but that's a minor point to mention. Overall, this place is clearly a step above the rest.
We've been living in Ichikawa for four years, and we recently visited a restaurant that has updated its decor, sushi bar, and menu. The improvements made a noticeable difference, with much better service and sushi preparation. We truly appreciated the friendly staff and delicious sushi, and we will definitely be going back!
Maybe I'm pampered, but spending $17.50 on a lunch special seems to me a little extravagant, especially in a small town like PT, where right below the block you can buy a foot-long subway for $6.99, a lunch from Golden Ocean just above the road for $8, or spend $10 for the lunch buffet in the nearby Pizza Factory. Anyway, I knew what I arrived when I went to Ichikawa, so I shouldn't complain. Was the food delicious? Yeah, well prepared? Sure. Look at how perfectly everything looks on the picture. The staff was also pleasant, so no complaints there. It was a beautiful sunny day, so I ate outside in the Ichikawa terrace opposite the Coupeville ferry. I would definitely eat there again, but someone must treat.
Wow! My husband I had dinner at Ichikawa last night it was fantastic!! Everything was so fresh delicious! The house salad dressing was flavorful light. The housemade dumplings were amazing the tempura vegetables shrimp were perfect. My husband had the surf turf (with lobster tail) I had the teriyaki chicken. Everything was plated beautifully. Our waitress was attentive friendly. The atmosphere was very comfortable relaxing..perfect for a date night! We will definitely be going back soon.
