La Marine - Port Sur Saone

I loved eating very well and the bosses are super nice.

At the start of a boating holiday on the Saone, we 'd arrived early and wanted a lunch before we set off. This place down by the river was perfect. A small outdoor eating area, shaded by a 'lean to ' arrangement was welcoming. A simple menu was on offer, pretty basic French bistro style. Food wasn 't fancy or 'haute cuisine ', just honest and fresh. Had a bowl of fish pieces, fried in breadcrumbs, frites, and a simple salad, followed by a lovely crime brûlée, all washed down with a carafe of house plonk. Prices were very reasonable, service friendly and efficient.

We had a party of 13 people for dinner. Hostesses are very friendly. We had steaks, duck and chicken nuggets. Food was very average. Came out quickly however.
