First time here and it was very good. We had steamed oysters and an oyster basket with cheese grits. It was all good. Oysters are from Cedar Key since Appalachicola is shut down.
We waited for 1.5 hours on a Thursday evening at this restaurant, despite there being empty tables. Our party of 6 was ignored in favor of two other parties of 6 who arrived after us. The host/host team was rude and took their time seating us. Once we finally sat down, it took a long time for our orders to be taken. The appetizers were slow to come out and only arrived after we reminded our server. The food was mediocre, with small oysters, dry hush puppies, and poorly cooked rice. Additionally, a $25 gratuity was automatically added to our bill and there was a $7 fee to pay by credit card. Our waitress was the only redeeming aspect of our experience, as most other staff members were rude and disorganized. Despite positive reviews and a waterfront location, this restaurant was a huge letdown. I will not be returning.
We had a disappointing experience at Cat 5 restaurant. Despite there being plenty of available tables and the restaurant being mostly empty, we were told by two different waitresses that we couldn't be seated due to larger groups. We ultimately decided to leave and eat elsewhere. The service was unprofessional and we hope the manager will address this issue soon.
We had a wonderful dining experience tonight. The service and food were excellent.
