We had a fantastic experience at Slims BBQ during our first visit. The owner was incredibly friendly and offered great assistance with our dinner selections. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches and a salad, and everything was fresh, delicious, and generously portioned.
I waited, and then he started making a choking sound before mumbling something I couldn’t hear. I stepped over to the side counter and noticed a bag sitting there while he just stared at me. I asked if that was the customer’s order, and he cleared his throat and told me he couldn’t speak. His response threw me off, so I asked again to make sure it was indeed for DoorDash, but he just continued to look at me awkwardly. Finally, he said, “Yes, now get the HELL out of here.” This was such an unexpected and rude thing to say to someone making a delivery for his establishment—or to anyone, really. I wasn’t sure whether he was joking or serious, so I asked him to repeat himself, to which he responded, "Take it and GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE." If this is how you treat people who come into your store, it’s no wonder the place was empty and the owner had to be there late at night. I couldn’t imagine working for someone so disrespectful. Why would he interact with a DoorDash driver like that? I was just trying to do my job. If this had been five years ago, I might have thrown the order back at him and told him to deliver it himself with that attitude. Respect is important, especially since delivery drivers don’t earn enough to be spoken to like that. Why would I deserve such treatment? I only spoke a few words and wasn’t rude or disrespectful. I was there to provide a service that his restaurant relies on, and I was doing my job well. This man clearly needs to check his attitude and stop acting superior. If he were better, perhaps the reviews would be too. You can always spot a fake five-star review that a family member or friend has written. They usually pop up to counter negative feedback or immediately after a bad review to maintain a facade. I don’t know what struggles he might be facing, but that’s not my concern or anyone else’s. I will be sharing my experience and warning others not to eat here, along with posting this review on various platforms. In just three minutes, he managed to show me how to ruin a business. Take his advice if you want to see your reputation tank. Good luck—someone really needs to retire.
Barbecue sandwiches on point, definitely hit the spot! What's more impressive is the superbly friendly staff...you couldn't ask for nicer people anywhere. Highly recommended.
The owner of this place showed me and a group my friends his ENTIRE bare rear end while the front door to his restaurant was wide open and the open sign was on. If that wasnt enough, he came across the parking lot to where my friends and I were and pushed my wife and another friend while intoxicatingly muttering something about never wanting to see us near his restaurant again. We were more than 50 yards from the front door. Order Chinese food from the place next door.
