Ginza Japanese Steakhouse - Port Orange

This place is absolutely stunning! As soon as you walk in, the lighting and decoration just leave you in awe. The sushi platters are beautiful and creative, not to mention delicious. We ate hibachi and loved it. Our cook was hilarious and fast. It's a perfect location to celebrate a special ocation or just for a nice date. We will definitely be back. Parking: There's plenty of parking spots available in front of the restaurant

I don’t know WHAT was going on tonight at Ginza. My party of four were sat at a hibachi table that was already there, as normal. The service started out slow because they were really busy. Understandable. Then, we ordered our food and the chef shortchanged everyone at our table SIGNIFICANTLY some portion of the meal. Then, when the meat was being served, he had given out all the meat to others and left none for someone in our party. Absolutely short a portion . We tried to quietly and discretely explain this to the manager and were completely okay with chalking this night as just overly busy for Ginza. I get it. Then, the manager came to table and said she would only charge us for the rice, noodles, salad and soup since he had started eating it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I tried to explain that he ate as the food was delivered in anticipation of receiving what he ordered. She kept insisting that we pay for a the mixed vegetables meal. I was absolutely dumbfounded. It was like I was haggling a price on a used Galant. I am in the restaurant industry and can understand pretty much any given situation but to insist that a customer pay for something they never received is ridiculous. The food and atmosphere aren’t impressive enough for this kind of management.

I use to work here. Although the food may be good, the owner is a horrible employer. Monica, a Chinese woman, took horrible care of her employees. We would have to tip half of our earnings to the hibachi chef instead of her paying them a livable wage. I know what you’re thinking. They deserve a tip too, right? And yes they do. But whenever a table tipped the hibachi, they wouldn’t share that tip with the servers. So some tables would just tip the hibachi and wouldn’t tip the servers assuming it was split between the coworkers. If we messed up on an order, Monica would take it out of our tips. For instance, I forgot to ring in an extra order of white rice (which gets thrown out at the end of the night anyways) a $3.00 small bowl of rice. She’d make me pick her up from home because she didn’t trust anyone when closing the store down when it came to finalizing checks. I was never reimbursed with gas or time and worked off the clock for her. That was when I was fed up with this establishment. I’ve never worked at a restaurant that were blatant thieves. Check out the other 1 star reviews and you will see how much of a monster she is. This was years ago and I’ve moved on with my life, but it’s sad that she still does this to her employees and people still support this business. I was young at the time and I’m sure there were laws to protect me for this kind of behavior. Your server is only making 10% of tips because they won’t pay their hibachi chefs a living wage. We both suffer.

Japanese is always one of my favorite places to go. My daughters and I went here today and, I have to say it is top-notch. The service is excellent thank you Ed) and the atmosphere is very welcoming and calming. We started out with appetizers. The spring rolls were very crisp and fresh, served with a sweet-sour chili sauce. We also got the spicy edamame , a bit too spicy for me. Both of my daughters being vegetarians had the hibachi vegetarian dish, which comes with soup, salad rice, delicious. I had the Kani salad very good, a little hint of spicy in the sauce just perfect. They made me a special roll which was spicy Salmon, cucumber and avocado in the middle and then I put Sashimi salmon on top. We ended up having the fried cheesecake for dessert! We must say the food was excellent. Vegetarian options: Both of my daughters have the hibachi vegetables. They said they were cooked to perfection and they came with rice and we ordered a side of noodles as well.

Always a great show and the food is yummy. Great time
