Salty's Bar & Grill - Port Macquarie

We made a reservation but our table was not ready. The waitress appeared to be inexperienced and lacked knowledge. The food was decent, but most of the seafood was deep-fried. There was a lack of understanding regarding wine, bread, and the menu. Despite this, I was content with my meal and found the prices to be reasonable.

I had a difficult time deciding on what to order from the menu at this restaurant. My wife asked me what I wanted, and I replied with "All of the above." The options all seemed fantastic. I ended up ordering the squid as my entree and the Santorini prawns as my main dish. My mother chose the snapper, while my wife went with garlic prawns for her entree and linguini for her main course. All of our dishes were delicious, with flavors that truly captured the essence of the Mediterranean, enhanced by the abundant use of fresh garlic. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes, making the meal a great value for the quality we received. Additionally, the beautiful river views added to the dining experience on that sunny Sunday, with yachts passing by. I am already looking forward to dining at this restaurant again in the future.

A wonderful spot to enjoy and celebrate a family birthday overlooking the Hastings river. Wonderful food and great service. Everone enjoyed the occasion. This is a hidden jewel and a must to visit to enjoy a great lunch or dinner.

The meals were fairly average for the price. All were served with very ordinary salad and chips. Nothing to rave about. We get just as good at our local coffee shop for half the price. You are paying for the view and it is lovely.

We celebrated my mothers 60th birthday here with over 30 people and found the location and restaurant to be very comfortable and well set out. The meals were lovely and well priced. The only thing I would say is given the size of our party there was only 2 young girls serving and they were run off their feet. If you want a quiet lunch over looking the river this is definitely a great place to be.
