Makimoto Port Macquarie

Visited a while back couple of times, once at dinner once at lunch. Food was good, well presented, but the portion was not big for main and didn't feel enough and we are not big eaters though. So didn't go back again.

My partner and I and our friend stopped by recently. Our meals came out in quick succession. I had the spicy pork, it was very nice with a side of steamed rice. Generous serving also.

My partner and I love MakiMoto. It's our go-to restaurant for dinner and movie dates. Service is always friendly, food is always amazing, reasonably priced.

Have visited a couple of times and very happy with food and service but sadly this was not the case on Friday night. (1) It took a while (+20mins) for us to get a staff members attention to order drinks and food. (2) Paid drinks were served, but water for the table was forgotten about. (3) Parts of one meal was forgotten and came out late, leaving the soup to get cold while we waited. (4) Most disappointing was the size of the meals. Udon soup and tempura meal sizes were significantly less than previous visits. I'm not sure if this was a once off or if they have scaled back the sizes permanently. Luckily we ordered more than needed, hoping we could take some home for leftovers. Unfortunately this was not the case. Not sure what happened on this night as I am generally happy with the consistency, food and service from previous visits.

Very fresh sushi and sashimi. Good service. Also had take-away the following day, and it was great quality sushi.
