La Antigua - Port Lavaca

Food and drink are so accurate! Delicious! The atmosphere is very cool. It's worth every ride you have to make to get here

We're here for our birthday. I was super excited to see the authentic dishes on the menu. The selection was amazing, both the red and green salsas were amazing. Unfortunately, due to our party size, no tipping was possible because the service was terrible. I think we might have seen the waitress four times. To take our order, bring us chips, deliver our order and another time when they refill a few of us a single drink. The rest had to do without replenishment, and when we finally found them sitting at a table in another part of the restaurant and asked for a check, she told us negligently to go into the front counter and they would tell us what we owe. A really negative part of what would have been an amazing visit.

Every time, the margaritas are perfect. Be sure to skip the chips and hot sauce because the menu offers a wider variety than most Mexican restaurants. Don’t miss out on the stuffed avocados; you won’t regret it. During my visit, I had the shrimp-filled avocado and even took some home because the portions are hearty. The service was excellent as well.

This was our second visit, and once again, the food was fantastic. The wings were juicy and perfectly seasoned, the burgers were deliciously messy, and the baked potato was cooked just right. The only minor drawback was that our server appeared to be quite shy and seemed new to the job. However, I have no doubt that with a little time, they'll excel.

This is a fantastic restaurant for enjoying a meal. I asked the owner, Jimmy, for some special treatment with the margaritas, and he really delivered! It's hands down the best place ever. Where else can you ask for the owner by name and actually receive exactly what you want? Nowhere else, that's for sure. This place is truly one of a kind!
