There was no elevator, and the stairs posed a real risk; the carpet was so frayed at the edges that it could easily cause someone to trip, particularly those with mobility challenges. My room reeked of cigarette smoke, and I discovered hair in the bedding. I would have raised these concerns with the staff, but the only person available left right after assisting the ferry group. I managed to get some sleep but departed very early the next morning.
I’m afraid this establishment should consider closing until renovations are complete. The lobby has a musty smell, and the kitchen/restaurant is currently closed. The room I stayed in was the worst I've encountered in North America, with mold and old, damp carpet. Despite these issues, it still seems to attract tour buses and unsuspecting tourists. I would rate the rooms 1 out of 5.
The hotel is impeccably clean, and the staff is quite friendly. However, the rooms could use a bit of modernization, and there is no elevator available. The beds are both comfortable and clean, while the prices are reasonable. I would definitely consider staying here again due to the beautiful views of the harbor and the warm hospitality of the staff.
With its clean, comfortable, and welcoming ambiance, breathtaking ocean views, easy parking, and the promise of nearby dining options, North Shore Inn is a fantastic option. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return for another memorable stay!
The only positive thing about this hotel was the staff. Everything else was in disarray, and the view along the waterfront was unattractive. It appears that the owners are more focused on selling the property than on maintaining it properly.
