Davids Restaurant - Port Dover

That was an overestimated and surely overpriced restaurant. sold from our first choice of the main course. on the table for extra bread charged eating was best in average. much better value and quality eat and service in other restaurants in the opposite.

We were looking for lunch in Port Dover and had been steered to another spot that I was not eager to go to when a friend sent me a tip on this spot. Called a half hour before arriving on a Saturday for lunch at 1, and they were able to seat us. When you drive to the restaurant, you would never expect it as it is located in a residential area, but it is well worth seeking out.What a beautiful room! The setting is spectacular and the room is comfortable with large windows and everything set to be special. Lunch prices were no different than many other spots, and included the view, fine linens, great service and delicious, crusty bread. My partner had the quiche and salad, which was good but was overshadowed by the pickerel I enjoyed with chips and slaw. I was served a large piece of fish, lightly coated and cooked to perfection. This came with lovely frites. We shared and enjoyed every morsel. with a glass of wine.I look forward to being able to dine there again. This time we will mae a reservation.

David's is a gem of a restaurant that has obviously found a first class chef to run their kitchen.The food is reasonably price (entree's between $15 to $20) and the portions are generous. The service is friendly and professional. If this was not enough, the restaurant sits perched on a cliff overlooking Lake Erie just east of Port Dover.

Made a reservation for my wife and l, for 1.00pm arrived early 12.30 pm wentUpstairs and had a cocktail then went to our table so far so good, then went downhill , they seemed to be short staffed and our waitress was preoccupied asked about the Brunch menu and ordered off this, pretty simple 2 surf and turfwith 2 Caesar salads , 45 mins later nothing has arrived we asked our waitress she told us it all came at once on the same plate we said we would like the salad first she informed us we had ordered off the main menu we hadn't, our food then arrived with coleslaw instead of mashed potatoes we said we would not haveOrdered Caesar salad if it came with coleslaw . Seems like a petty complaint butwe have eaten here many times it was always a special treat , not today very poorasked for my steak medium it was served rare , Manager came to our table andapologized gave us a discount , great view poor service so so food.

Great restaurant for a night out. My wife and I decided last minute to go for a quiet meal. Davids overlooking Lake Erie in Port Dover was the choice. Although the main floor was all reserved we went upstairs for an amazing view at sunset. Service was a little slow at first but once a second server arrived it was great. Excellent selection of food choices. Steak was amazing. My wife had surf and turf and was also great. Wine choices were good, not great but we found a good Merlot at a reasonable price. Finished off with a great cup of coffee.Great place, great food amazing view.
