We sort of stumbled across sassi cucina on our hunt for dinner one night, and it was a great find! It's a modern and stylish place and they have tables out on the street which is great on a nice evening. We both ordered seafood dishes and they were both fantastic. Very impressed with this classy local hangout. Tip: book a table in advance. We had to wait over an hour for a table. But it was worth it.

We selected this restaurant as we have a love for Italian food and seafood. Upon arrival we were impressed with the personalised service and the menu. We ordered the ZAPPU a must for any seafood / Italian food lover. IT WAS AMAZING. Seafood cooked just right and full of flavour, my husband couldn't help but try and get the recipe from the wait staff. They told us that their ZAPPU is listed in a book called "Flavours of Queensland" which we have since bought. In Port Douglas for a 10 day visit, we'll be spending most nights at Sassi ...

We have always had dinner at Sassi when in Port Douglas. This time we took friends there for lunch. The tuna starter, the puttanesca, the beef salad, in fact everything was just divine The handsome waiters are also a delight.

I have a mixed impression of Sassi. They have a great menu and we mostly enjoyed our dinner on a busy evening. Restaurant was packed and many people without reservations were turned away. Service quality unlike many other restaurants managed to keep up throughout most of the evening until the very end with water glasses left unfilled and check not being presented. Grilled octopus, whitebait, salads, shrimp appetizers and side of grilled vegetables all very good. Unfortunately, the pasta dishes were all over salted. and with prices are on the expensive side, this is the reason for downgrade in rating.
