Goodlocation and found the bar staff helpful. However, the food was ok until night 3 when we ordered bangers & mash and battered fish. The bangers and mash were cold and I was extremely disappointed with the fish & chips; there were no mushy peas (as advertised), the salad was dry and the chips were awful......stale and cold. Whilst the pub is ok, we will not eat there again.
The food has gone down hill as we use to always come here for a meal when in Port. With EXTREMELY LOUD music with no consideration to guests in surrounding holiday apartments.Screaming & yelling some alcohol fuelled patrons who also have no consideration for others when leaving Paddy's.Not a place anymore to chat over a meal as you can't hear each other. Regards R.Phillips
Great place for food snd entertainment Fun trivia night snd grest bands/singers Pub grub great. Best beef and Guinness pie I've had for ages.
This Irish bar was a welcome surprise from the tragic night before. After a nightmare meal the night before at another local venue, we were starting to think that the hype around Port Douglas food venues was flat wrong. So after doing another lap of town and still not seeing anything jump off the board at us, we took the leap and headed for Paddy's Irish Bar on Macrossen Street. Loving my Guinness as I do, I am in the know when it comes to a true Irish Bar. Stepping inside set our minds at ease, and when my Guinness arrived after the "settle", I was in awe of the staff and their attention to my favourite drink. The Menu was clean and clear, and very refreshing. The usual suspects in Guinness Pie, Lamb Shank and Bangers n Mash were all there. I took a punt at the 350g Rump with Mushy Sauce, Medium Rare. Shell chose the Shank and Vege. Both Arrived hot and quick and cooked to absolute perfection! The Shank fell of the bone and it didn't take her long to get through it, and my Steak was stupendous! As the title says, this is by far my best steak this year, even as I sit here after a meal in the Ramada Port Douglas Treetop Restaurant, I can say for sure that Paddy's 350g still has the top of my list this year. The Chef truly treated this piece as it should have been. A perfect balance between Char and Blood, and tender to the cut. I take my hat off to the Chef. Perfect! As for the remainder of the Pub..... Its an awesome little place tucked in amongst a heap of posh places, and a few local Bar n Grills. One of which was absolutely atrocious in every sense. Check out my review of that one later.Paddy's Irish Bar Port Douglas is a great atmosphere and the perfect spot for a great Guinness and a brilliant steak. Thanks to the Guys and Gals there. We Will Be Back!!!
