Port A Poke Sake - Port Aransas

This place is fantastic. I had the Asian beef bowl with extra spicy Mayo, a mango tea with strawberry boba and egg rolls. The service was amazing and the woman working was beyond helpful and kind. My BFF and I tried a new place on our girl?s trip and we?re planning on coming back tomorrow!!

We love to stop by this little hidden gem for a jasmine lychee bubble tea! Super friendly staff, recommend. Make sure you get bubble tea spot right before going on the jetty boat.

Our dining experience was a bit chaotic: some of us retrieved our food from the counter, while some items were delivered to our table about ten minutes later. Unfortunately, two of our meals never arrived, so we had to go inside to get them ourselves — by that point, three of us had already finished eating. Additionally, the egg drop soup was forgotten. As a family of five, we ordered three Poke bowls, two rolls, and one soup, which came to $93 with a 25% tip. While the food was tasty, I found it a bit pricey given the quality. I ordered the Tuna Lovers Poke, which was fresh and well-seasoned with a nice portion size; however, there were large, inedible chunks of fat in the tuna. The larger pieces were cubed (the minced spicy tuna was fine), but I ended up having to discreetly spit out the unchewable bits into a napkin. I could only manage to eat half of the tuna in my Tuna Lovers Poke. The egg drop soup, on the other hand, was cold and seemed off; it was missing the egg and only contained a few stringy pieces. Although it was spring break, the restaurant didn’t seem overly busy, and there was no one in line ahead of us. Another family arrived just as we were leaving with our bowls. However, the sushi preparation seemed to slow things down. While the flavor of the sushi was great, the roll itself was very loose and fell apart when we tried to eat it. I suspect the person making the rolls was new to the task. I also inquired about whether any of the fish used in the bowls was local, and the woman preparing our food said they couldn’t source local fish due to a county ordinance. I found that puzzling, especially in a state that promotes farm-to-table dining, and considering we are on an island. It left me curious and somewhat confused about the sourcing of their ingredients.

This restaurant is terrible. If I could give it zero stars, I absolutely would. I waited an hour for a messy tuna roll, which was barely enough to satisfy a small child. To top it off, the woman at the counter told me I was overweight and refused to serve me a strawberry milk tea, claiming I needed to lose weight. Additionally, she ran over my dog in the parking lot and made insulting remarks about my religion. I would not recommend this place at all.

I was just passing through on my way out of town, but the Boba teas were fantastic! I was a bit disappointed with the peanut butter and jelly sandwich I ordered, though. However, I would definitely return since they have a larger menu that I didn't have time to explore. The place had a wonderful aroma that almost tempted me to stop and eat there.
