Quick service when ordering online. Very good food. Mabo Tofu is excellent, ands so is the fried rice. The pork buns and bao are homemade and delicious. Highly recommend also the bokchoi entree. The hot and sour soup isn't very spicy or sour, but has good white pepper flavor that I always love in Chinese food.

I finally tried chef Lu a year ago as they picked up at the height of the pandemic and the reviews of the food were good. I love it. I like the variety of options and always order the pancit!!! What I like most is the feeling of the small town. She recognizes me even if I wear a mask. The owner is so friendly and goes the extra mile with customer service. Even after she stopped doing pickup, she accepted my request to take my job to my car because I had my children with me. If you order directly from your website, you will receive free app offers if you spend a certain amount. I ordered today and the weekend deal does not begin until tomorrow, but she recognized my name on the online order and put the free app in anyway, she said since I am a loyal customer. I recommend this restaurant.

Freakin loves this place could not recommend enough! Hands down most legit, high quality, best Chinese restaurant in Hampton Roads! Always consistently good, service is incredible, and it is actually not possible to come here and have complaints! Crazy? I often came and the owner is very loving, gives my friends and I free drinks or food because our meal takes a while to get out, and it's always a pleasure to see them. The sweet and sour fish is just really good and who has ever heard of sweet and sour FISH? Forgive my terrible ignorance when this is a fairly common dish in China, but I have never seen it in my somewhat extensive Chinese restaurant (in America) experience. And it's so good. Everything is perfectly cooked and everything is amazing. I could go on. The only sad thing to Chef Lu’s is that they are not open 24/7 and close to 8, but hey, they are exclusive! And who would hate such a fantastic place to close a little earlier than it is desirable of foods that seek people with high standards in the evening? It's good for me. Sometimes I consider my relationship with Chef Lu’s and recognize my stupidity to not support such a wonderful local business anymore. I'm really not sure what's going on with me. But I know there is nothing wrong with Chef Lu’s!! Visit the best Chinese foods on the peninsula!

This place is a gem to find in Virginia! The owner is so sweet and attentive. And the food is great! Here moved by NYC so the search for food on this level was hard to find, but we definitely found it at Chef Lu! I highly recommend the Cumin Lamb Bowl! Flavorful and not too sharp

Best BBQ pork buns I've ever had. The pork soup dumplings are also very good. The building itself is always very clean and staff is always awesome
