Sportstübli - Pontresina

Was recommended by Hotel Allegra staff. Close walk just down the street with stunning views of the mountains and fields of wildflowers!

We went to this restaurant because they were having some traditional music performed on our evening. The place is beautiful. A terrific salad bar from which you can order mini, mid or large plate. Or you can go all you can eat. My wife enjoyed it. I started with one of the best pumpkin soups I had ever had. For my main dish I ordered venison strips (very tender! in a sauce, with red cabbage and spaetzle. Yummy! My wife had a steak that she loved. Even with just a couple of glasses of wine this was not a cheap dinner. Also, they have an English menu but little-to-no English was spoken by the waitstaff.

Today has been returning to the sportstübli for a long time. 2 adult with 2 teenagers, no extravagant eating requests. arrived at 18.50 clock, card fix get 18.55 clock. order picked up at 19.10 clock. then. around 19.40 clock asked if how better tomorrow should come again. 3 apologies of the nice service later, at 20.16 clock, eat on the table. Randen-Tortelloni: semi-gar, lukewarm to cold. vegetarian burger: lukewarm, inedible: broccoli total brown and crumbled by long heat or microshaft, melon carvings tasted like fermented (= well stored melons.) goat cheese dried. court returned to the kitchen for viewing lessons. the engadinerschnitzel qualitatiw ok, but made no love. the mistchratzerli dry with tasteless marroni. a second bottle of mineral water was laid in our table with a closed cover in the past, päng. on the offered coffee for the full-to-face dinner we have voluntarily dispensed with and moved us around 20.50 clock in direction competitive to enjoy a dessert with attentive, authentic nice service and wonderful food quality. lived hospitality and a kitchen that sends each food with love to call into the restaurant, has been our motivation for one or more visits to them since the 90s, whenever we were in the engadin. new decoration alone is unfortunately not enough, even the content should be voting. a lot, lots of air up - in the service as in the kitchen. pity, dear sports ambulance management, they have far away from the former ambiente and especially from the former quality.

We actually ate here two nights in a row since we were so pleasantly surprised the first time. Plenty to chose from on the menu and all the food was great (slightly on the expensive side but then again, this is Switzerland, everything is expensive!) and the staff was super friendly. Highly recommended!

The selection menu in the evening tasted very good. it includes choice appetizer, salat buffet, main course and dessert, which I converted into cheese. the nice lady in the service has even organized me bündner birnenbrot, warm thanks for this very nice special service!
