We were warmly welcomed by JJ and continued by an employee we wish as our waiter. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, but obviously was in such a great hurry that he quickly explained the menu options and later forget that we needed more water bread. He wasn't bad, really, just maybe too thin. The ambience was beautiful, the decor charming. And the food was delicious. My Coq au vin was Jacques Pépin's recipe, I was told and it was wonderful. My husband's Bouillabaisse presented two huge scallops and was raised. Our dessert choice, pecan bourbon tart, had too much chocolate for us, but we're so funny.
Consistent Great Food!!! We've been here for years and always had a great meal! The godfather is delicious. The wine selection is the best in Jacksonville and its knowledge is incomparable. Duck always excellent and the steaks are fantastic. Desserts are what you dream about at night. We'll keep eating here, never disappointed, always a pleasure.
Excellent and fresh. JJ's is one of my favorite restaurants on the beaches. Your current cook is very creative and it is really the super fresh ingredients that make the food special. The seasonal menu choices are the best. I had scallops with coconut beer-blanc sauce that was spectacular. They host my wheat allergy and I never had a single problem accidentally sneaking on the plate! The wine pairings of JJ are very thoughtful, the waiting staff is never possessed, and the ambience is quietly congenial.
After enjoying such an incredible lunch in The French Pantry, it was only logical that we had an authentic French experience (as owned by a French expatriate) in hopes of another amazing experience (except, it was a weekend and The
This is one of my favorite places to go. My wife and I enjoy coming here for coffee and something sweet. They have a variety of European influenced items. They were recently voted one of Jacksonville's 25 best and I know why. They have delicious meals and even more delicious sweets and pastries. Everything is made from scratch and so good! They have weekly dinner specials that are always good but we usually go for lunch. They have a very good lobster bisque and atmosphere just makes me feel like I'm back in France sitting in a little corner bistro.
