Fonda Ponga

Circulando en moto por la AS-261 a últimos del mes de diciembre del 2014, llegamos a la hora de comer al pueblo de San Juan de Beleño, en el concejo de Ponga (Asturias , bien conocido por los montañeros y senderistas que se adentran en las rutas que recorren sus impresionantes parajes. Comimos en la Fonda de Ponga, establecimiento especializado en la cocina de fogón tradicional, donde se reseñan la fabada con venado, cocido de castañas, la “olla quitafames”, la sartén de los pastores o cualquier otro plato de caza. En postres imprescindibles la tarta de Beleño, el arroz dulce con mermelada. Dispone de menú del día (15€ . Apenas llegamos al café ya que el tiempo cambió, y lo que comenzó con lluvia, al poco tiempo, se convirtió en nieve.

If you want delicious authentic food with a beautiful view for an incredible price you must eat here!!! For 15 euros each we had an amazing 4 course meal of very unique food, with our waiter going out of his way to help make sure all my meals were vegetarian (even though he spoke no English and we barely speak Spanish he was super helpful! This tiny town is surrounded by beautiful mountains and is easily the best meal we've had in a very very long time! Highly recommended!!

This unpretentious restaurant has a great view of mountain peaks, and serves straightforward Asturian food. The open air terrace adjoining the restaurant is shady and cool, and overlooks rustic old farm buildings with swooping swifts darting about. The terrace is dog friendly, so you can take your dog there. The owner is very polite, and the food is good. There is a village car park nearby. Note that the Tripadvisor map is miles out save yourself a needless trip up a mountain track and head for Beleño or San Juan de Beleño (it is signposted as both same place).

We stopped for lunch good Tapas very good views out the back, the staff were very accommodating, the dog is also friendly.

Mejor comida casera que e probado en Asturias, bien de precio y el trato recibido x la familia que nos atendió excelente.
