The wait was ridiculous counting that they have the mole ready to go it's just rolling the tortillas with the mole and cheese, beans are ready and rice was ready as well. So no I don't think I'll be back to this place.
Whenever I try a new spot I always try to do what I call a tacos tour to get an idea of what the meats are like. I got pastor, carnitas and asada. Right off the bat the handmade tortillas were amazing!!! I'm super picky about my carnitas, but these did not disappoint. The carnitas were juicy and well seasoned. The pastor was delish! The carne asada could have used a marinade or a little TLC. My husband had the mole chilaquiles, they come rice, beans and with eggs and he also added some meat to his order. He was very impressed. DEFINITELY WORTH COMING BACK.
We waited 30 minutes for three tacos and enchiladas, and the experience was disappointing. The food was unappetizing, and they messed up my order. I specifically requested no lettuce on my tacos, and instead, they gave me nothing but the greasy meat. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this overpriced restaurant; you'll be stuck waiting for over half an hour, regardless of what you order.
I would love to give them a five-star rating, but they definitely need to improve on the cleanliness of the place. Other than that, the restaurant captures the essence of Oaxaqueña cuisine. While it may not be 100% authentic, the homemade feel is definitely a win-win. The cashier is always very attentive; next time, I’ll make sure to ask for his name.
The tacos were just decent overall. I ordered three asada tacos for lunch and was charged the regular price, even though the website and other pages mentioned Taco Tuesday. I placed a to-go order for three asada tacos and a large horchata, which took about 15 minutes to prepare. However, when I reached work, I realized how disappointing my receipt was and noticed how small the tacos were. You'd be better off heading to your nearest El Gallo Giro location, where the tacos are generously filled and bursting with flavor—definitely worth the price. Unfortunately, my tacos were dry and lacked taste; I would have preferred just eating homemade tortillas with some beans. On a positive note, I liked the horchata; it was perfectly balanced—not too sweet or thick. I might consider giving this place another shot, but I’ll definitely steer clear of the overcooked asada!
