The Tudor Rose Tearooms Garden

I’m really glad to find places that offer vegan cream teas. However, I found the scones to be a bit hard and dry, which is why I gave it 2 stars.

I would absolutely give this place a full 5 stars if I could. I visited Plymouth and stopped by this restaurant on my own. It's a stunning old building with a beautifully decorated interior. The space is small, which adds to the charm and creates a really cozy atmosphere. I have a soft spot for nostalgic meals, and the dish I tried, featuring brittle with saw and marmalade at the sea, perfectly captured that vibe. The vegan version came with coconut cream and was simply delightful. They played 50s music, which added to the ambiance, and it was just an overall fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly dedicated and wonderfully friendly—they really excelled in their roles. If you get the chance, definitely visit this gem!

I had previously thought some delights, like cream teas, were off-limits for vegans, but this was a truly delicious experience, and they did an excellent job with it. I hope they will consider expanding their sandwich options in the future, as there are great vegan alternatives available for meats like ham and chicken. They also offer a vegan cream tea for £6.95 per person, and it's possible to make their vegetarian breakfast vegan-friendly upon request, though I didn’t try that. Overall, it was a wonderful visit!
