Unluckily me and my wife, decided to ask for food from Nikkori. One of our friends recommended it. That was a big mistake, the Japanese noodles(udon agridulce mixto) were just over cooked pasta, the portion was small, I can understand because its a cheap restaurant....The torimeshi don came with soy sauce and not with teriyaki the rice was over cooked too, the chiken was very hard to percive again the portion was a joke. Finally my daughter asked for brochetas and fries.... The fries look like been at the microwave, and fried two days ago. I know that specialy you that are travelling and expect to get good food don't choose this place. You will have a bad experience, finaly I call to the restaurant to explain the situation and the answer of the lady at the phone was kind of a very rude statementnot even a we will take in vount your opinon. They don't care about their customers at all. The only positive thing that i see in this was that the envelope of the food was biodegradable.... I'm glad they care for the environment, sadly they do not about their customers.
These guys forgot 1 of our 4 dishes. That’s 25% of our order, lol. They acknowledged that, said sorry, and then told us they would not bring our money back and that we could pay for the 4th dish again
Since my favorite sushi place (SOMA) shut down, I found Nikkori under the advice of a friend that lives there. Sushi is good, and the portions are on par with any other sushi place I have been to in the states. I prefer sashimi because...it is simple and difficult to get wrong. I realize I am eating sushi in Mexico so I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the food. It's not grade A sushi restaurant but again, if you're a little tired of the tacos in Mexico and have a yearning for some sushi, this might be your best option. All in all, I will be returning every time I visit playa.
I live in PDC during the winter and have for a long time. This WAS our go-to sushi restaurant. Over the last two years we have seen the food quality become unacceptable. The place is dated and generally smells. This was not the case many...years ago. The chefs are not able to make the dishes that you see on the menu. Bottom line, I got really sick the last time I was there. I won't return until management changes. Stay Away!
