Unfortunately, the quality seems to have fallen significantly. my spouse ordered the garlic that was too oily and too oily. had so much garlic that the taste of the garnels was overwhelmed. I had the paella that was fantastic in the past. this time the seafood garnishes were not fresh at the top, and the rice was too oily. the seafood in the paella were however tasty and plentiful. service was pretty good and they delivered a lot of sauces and dives for our nachos, which we waited for the main dish. the restaurant itself seemed more orderly and more tidy than before, but the decline of the quality of the meal was inconspicuous.
Great place with great service. eating is really authentic and everything we ordered was fantastic. this situation is located on the 30th floor near juarez, is far enough away from the tourist opposite and the prices are very reasonable. very authentic Mexican restaurant and the staff...was super nice. I ordered the seafood paella and my friend ordered the fried fish plate, I think the fish was a snuck. service is excellent and the food was so delicious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to hike from 5th street and away from all tourist sites to experience real Mexican seafood.
For our last lunch in playa del carmen have my wife and I decided to have some seafood. this restaurant came from a search on the internet and the reviews look good. we ordered a fried hog fish with garlic and paella. For...drinks we ordered two jugo de limonadas (lime juice). the hog fish was delicious and kicked to perfection. it was served with a cup of rice and vegetables. the paella was, I think, a catastrophe. the whole dish was cooked with a plentiful amount of margarine and it tasted like margarine. After I had eaten half of it, I gave up. it felt like I had shaken a tub of margarine. I just finished the otopus, garnel and garnel. overall I recommend the fried fish of the day. please choose the fish as it could vary. when we were there, we asked the fish of the day and they showed hog fish and tilapia, and we have about the cost before we choose which fish. I highly recommend staying away from their version of paella. not sure if this is a regional thing (the restaurant offers Veracruz style meals), but this version of paella I find disgusting. but if they are thrilled for margarine, they go on.
Tired of the 5th avenue tourust trap, we ventured to the place( next door to KFC) and had an amazing experience. Staff was wonderful. I recommend tbe seafood soup or Paeyea. Burritoes and fajihitas ordinary but seafood extraordinary! We will go back
During our recent visit to the Playacar area just south of Playa Del Carmen, my wife and I wanted to find good seafood at a restaurant where the locals eat and not on the very touristy Avenida 5. We also wanted to walk there and...not too far. The answer was El Gusto Jarocho just north of Avenida Juarez on 30 Avenida. Nothing fancy, just good local seafood eating with the local folks plus a few expats that seemed to know their way around. The camerones al mojo de ajo we had was plentiful and very good and the price was $8.50 US. Ask for pico de guyao with the chips and salsa.
