Not a typical Tico soda, Villa Bosque is set back off the main highway, surrounded by a lovely, mature garden with Jurassic era looking palms towering 8 meters to the sky. The sign is small and the nearly one-lane dirt road is easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Parking is plentiful and free. We parked off the road and took the stairs up to the large, open-air, vaulted ceiling rancho. Seating is also plentiful. You would be forgiven for mistaking this as a typical soda with a nicer property from initial impression but once the food arrives, you will know the difference. This is a bar and restaurant, so standard mixed drinks are available, beer and some excellent fruit juices. The menu isn't long but there were many good entrees and we had a difficult time choosing. I highly recommend the chicken cordon blue in jalapeno sauce. It was the best I've had in years. Given how delicious and flavorful the food was, we will return to try more items. The service was friendly, attentive and fast. The prices were fair considering the quality of the meal.
We drove an hour from Nosara just to eat here. We had been hearing great things about Villa Bosque so we jumped on the ATV and went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, so glad we did. My picky son ordered a chicken sandwich, it was served on homemade bread, he gave it 2 thumbs up. I had the chicken cordon bleu which was amazing. Chicken wrapped in bacon served over a veggie melody of carrots, squash broccoli with a light jalapeño cream sauce. I would will totally order that again. The menu is diverse with steaks, curried grilled fish, shrimp dishes, burgers and even onion rings. The chef is skilled in his craft, dishes had lots of flavor, were scratch made and presentation was beautiful. Service was sweet and kind. I can’t wait to return bring friends for this perfect place. Well done chef!
From the moment you step into this charming eatery, you are greeted not just with smiles, but with the rich, alluring aromas of top cuisine. The chef here is an artisan of flavor, humbly crafting dishes that resonate with the vibrant soul of the region. Each bite is a testament to their passion and expertise, leaving an indelible mark on your palate. I don't just recommend this place; I urge you to visit. It's not merely a meal; it's an unforgettable food experience where every dish tells a story of tradition and innovation. Their commitment to quality and the genuine warmth of their service epitomizes the best of Costa Rican hospitality. Strongly advised for anyone seeking to savor the true essence of Costa Rican gastronomy.
The food was delicious the quiet forest was peaceful and the host Florela was so very kind and gracious. We came back for a second time during our short week. Excellent meal!
