Taste Of The Islands - Plano

This is my new and only place I'm in Dallas! Pros- Doubles!!, Excellent customer service, great atmosphere, not only cooked food, but other island food, cheap! I wish they lived near me. Finally, this is a must if you have an opportunity. I can't wait to go back!!! Parking: In front of the door there are two people living places!

So if you have seen any of my other posts, yes I am Chinese, but I was born in Trinidad, and so were my parents. I consider myself rather experienc ed in Caribbean foods. The owners are from Guyana and are really nice. Sohe Essen is a touch different from Trini Essen. That means it's nice to get real double in the area (not like in Queens where it's BOMB). There is a touch too much tamarind sauce, but it's still good. The curry chicken is good, and the Dhal puri is good, but I like my cooked a little longer. Patties were good, like the Pharaohs. All in all, I would give 4.5 stars and will certainly be back when the Trini proposes food search

So I was so excited to see that it was a Caribbean / Mexican restaurant near my life! I ordered my food to-go! Couldn't wait to come home to eat this food! I threw my whole record in the garbage! This food is not authentic at all! I don't recommend anyone! I have nothing to eat now and I'm still hungry! All good reviews here must be from people with European taste buds! If I could give negative stars, I would!!!!!!

Came here twice. Not crowded, so not sure why service was so bad. 2 other customers have made orders. We got in and the staff looked irritated as if they wanted us to hurry and go. I asked for Curry Chicken. It didn't taste like Curry Chicken. Patty tasted frozen and bland. You have a supermarket if you need imported snacks, drinks and spices. My best friend is Carribean and she would have been disappointed in the meal. I hope it was just a free day. We really need this kitchen in the area and we really wanted to support this business.

Food is so good. I had to put it away so I could eat it tonight after this bowl football game.
