Matsui - Plano

It’s not only a grocery market but they also specialize in sushi, ramen, and have many small restaurants located inside the marketplace. It’s right next to other many asian restaurants in the area so I highly recommend visiting if you are craving Japanese food. It’s a fun market to visit and shop for japanese goods such as candy and snacks as well.

I have eaten a many Katsu Restaurants in the DFW area, many owned by “kids”. The majority of them I doubt they serve real meat or at least the have a fatty/jelly additive that disgusts me.NOT here! Matsui is the real deal. I have not had better Katsu even when I traveled to Tokyo. The batter is uniquely and perfectly crispy with a light crunch and their plum sauce balances and brings a truly Umami flavor. Well done Chefs at Matsui.

I ordered here on DoorDash and no one was there apparently. My poor Dasher was sitting there waiting and nothing. Both Doordash and I tried calling them multiple times with no response. Please don't say you are open and accepting orders if there is nobody there.

I crave this almost everyday. The hot small ten don combo is my absolute favorite. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the rice and tempura are to die for.Vegetarian options: The veggie tempura and small ten don combo (cold or hot) are amazing.Kid-friendliness: A super interesting and interactive place for kids.

"I had one of my worst experiences at this restaurant. The front staff member, Benjamin, was quite unpleasant. I mistakenly ordered the Katsu chicken soup instead of the Katsu chicken. When I approached him to explain the error, he insisted on charging me an additional $9 and refused to offer a refund. I mentioned that the mistake was unintentional since I don’t typically eat Asian food. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I won't be returning."
