Ikigai Udon - Plano

Today I visited Ikigai to try udon for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! The staff were all very friendly and patient, especially as I had never tried udon before and had many questions about the menu. I ordered the sweet beef udon salad, while my partner chose the pork tonkatsu rice dish. We also ordered musubi for our son. The salad was refreshing with a perfect balance of flavors, and the sesame dressing was delicious. The rice dish was flavorful and the portion size was just right. I would highly recommend trying their curry if you enjoy that dish. Our son tried musubi for the first time and loved it, even though he is usually picky with his food. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Ikigai, especially as I am not usually a fan of noodle soups. It was a delightful first-time experience for me!

At first glance, the exterior of the restaurant may not be the most inviting, but don't let that deter you, as this place is a hidden gem. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly. The cafeteria-style setup may seem unusual at first, but it adds to the charm of the place. The service was outstanding, with our food being served quickly and efficiently. The portion sizes were surprisingly large, and the quality of the food matched the exceptional service. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience and I will definitely be returning to eat here again.
