Out of nowhere, Maria intervened and started trying to adjust my order. When I asked her what was happening, I suggested that she just keep my payment and let me take a cookie instead of the chips, but she refused. I offered to go to my car to get the extra change, but she wouldn't allow that. It's worth noting that the T-Mobile offer has a strict five-minute redemption window. She insisted that I swipe my card again, but I explained I still wanted to make my purchase and her behavior made no sense to me. I asked her to clarify her actions, and she ignored me while yelling that I needed to swipe my card. Confused, I declined because I didn't understand why she wanted me to swipe again. I told her she could keep the money, and I just wanted a cookie, which was much cheaper than the chips. This caused her to create a scene, leaving me both shocked and humiliated. Her customer service skills were nonexistent, and it was clear she had trouble understanding English. Despite my attempts to communicate, she continued to raise her voice at me. Eventually, I handed her my card just to resolve the situation, but I asked her how I could rerun my transaction to redeem my offer. Maria flatly refused to assist me, walked away, and dismissed my concerns, even laughing about it. I couldn't believe what was happening, so I pulled out my phone to record the interaction and asked her to repeat what she had said. I requested the manager's contact information, but she refused once again, stating she didn’t care and that it wouldn’t matter if I talked to a manager. I asked her three times for the contact information, to which she said she wasn’t allowed to give it out. This seemed strange, especially given that another customer also complained about her service. This other customer advised me to contact consumer management, pointing to a number on the wall. As soon as this customer spoke up, Maria became calm and walked away. Her behavior was unprofessional, rude, and confrontational. I feel compelled to address this issue, as I’ve never felt so humiliated. The way I was treated as a person of color made the experience even more disheartening. I couldn't believe that after I offered to pay another way, I was still turned away over a mere 40 cents. I asked if I could go to my car to get it, and Maria's refusal seemed totally unnecessary and spiteful. I plan to report this incident to consumer services for follow-up because it was embarrassing for me and shocking to the other employees, who also seemed appalled by her conduct. If Maria doesn't want to work there, she should consider a different job instead of taking her frustrations out on customers. Her behavior is detrimental to the reputation of this franchise. I wasn't the only one who found her attitude unacceptable, and it's clear that she should not be in a position that requires high-quality customer service.
I left last week to midday with my son. Tables and floors were dirty with food and garbage everywhere. three employed and it was not busy. if they can't keep the front clean, then the kitchen and food store is probably the same. No, thanks.
